Of all the plays Shakespeare wrote, The Winter's Tale is one of the most problematic. Directed by Declan Donnellan at Chicago Shakespeare, Cheek By Jowl's highly conceptual staging of the play does little to mitigate the all-but irredeemably troubled script.
