Heaven knows why reputable actors like Anne Hathaway, Patrick Wilson and Dianne Wiest attached themselves to "Passengers," a supernatural thriller so mechanically inept and lacking in suspense that it doesn't even pass muster as lowbrow Halloween-ready entertainment.
